Steam is a activate-on-play service where every time you start a game, the Steam client checks your account status (barriing those very few games that don't use Steam DRM). I grew up downloading a game or software. You need a client and I don't want that client. Though that has something to do with consoles, steam works the same way. However, isn't that just wrong that you have to rebuy your old games from the PSN store in order to play the games you have laying right in front of you? I do not like it at all. Regional pricing is a fair idea but executed wrong. Alright, in the case of AoW 3 that wasn't the case, but I am a fan and I guess i succumbed to it. Another thing is that I like flat pricing. It's just the assurance of having my games secured. Steam will probably excist for years if not forever.

I prefer to have my own collection of games that I can backup anytime I like and install at any time, without needing a client that MIGHT shut down.
